one day on Abbey Road

It was the morning of August 8, 1969.
Iain Macmillan was given
10 minutes to photograph the Beatles crossing the street.

smoking Beatles? oh dear, who knew Beatles were evil?

John is the last to leave the stoop,
and yet first to be ready.

so are we doing this or whot, then?

        Beatles looking both ways.

George, please! you weren't even smoking.
Paul... where did you leave your shoes this time?

George- now you've got Paul out of step too.
Why is it the only guy who's got it together
is the one who was smoking a doob?

Guys, c'mon... focus?

Actually Paul, it was better without the shoes...

and the winner is...

Ever wonder about the guy standing in the shadows down the road
watching all this going on?

His name is Paul Cole, and this was his perspective on it all...

and, in the end...

In four of the six photographs McCartney was barefoot;
in the other two, he wore sandals.

Recently, a single outtake from this series sold
for $ ????? -
the answer is here.
