R. Crumb and Music part II

So deep and abiding was his feeling for the music
that he began to play it too.

He and some other afficionados formed the Cheap Suit Serenaders

They issued a number of 78 rpm 10-inch singles
for Blue Goose, long after the format was obsolete.

His work seemed to define an era... yet it also transcended time, referencing the past but fifty years later it seems timeless. Classic. Impeccable.

He's skilled, in an old world way, with the ability
to draw from life as well as his imagination.
His work
is sincere, to point of being confrontational, especially
in these jaded, ironic times.
